How to care for your motorcycle gear

Proper care helps extend the life of your motorcycle gear and ensures that materials and protective elements continue to perform as intended.

With the right cleaning and maintenance routine, your equipment will remain comfortable, functional and reliable for many years.

GENERAL CARE

Take care of your gear, and it will take care of you

Motorcycle gear is exposed to rain, dirt, sweat and constant movement. Regular cleaning and proper storage help maintain comfort, protection and long-term performance.

Always check the care label inside the garment before washing.

  • Remove protectors

    Take out all armor before washing your gear.

  • Close all fasteners

    Zip up zippers and close Velcro to protect the fabric.

  • Use mild detergent

    Choose a detergent suitable for technical fabrics.

  • Wash on a gentle cycle

    Wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C / cold water.

  • Air dry only

    Do not tumble dry. Let the gear dry naturally.

Caring for waterproof gear

How should I wash waterproof motorcycle gear?

Waterproof gear should be washed gently using a mild detergent suitable for technical fabrics. Avoid fabric softener, as it can reduce breathability.

How do I maintain waterproof performance?

Regular cleaning helps maintain the performance of waterproof membranes such as Sympatex®. If needed, the outer fabric can be treated with a suitable waterproofing spray.

Can I tumble dry waterproof gear?

No. Waterproof motorcycle gear should always be air dried.

STORAGE

Store your gear properly

When not in use, motorcycle gear should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place. Avoid:

  1. humid environments
  2. direct sunlight for extended periods
  3. storing gear while damp
